Event's First Aid and Rescue was established
after a number of event organisers approached Galloway
Mountain Rescue Team with requests to provide first
aid cover for their events.
The team decided that they would
were not in a position ot provide this cover during
an event, but would be happy to respond to a "callout"
if it were to occur.
Two team members, Colin Brown
and Chris Marshall, both with over 20 years experience
in mountain rescue, established 'Events First
Aid and Rescue' (EFAR) as a separate business.
The new organisation has been established with
the intention of providing event organisers with
a cadre of people with the skills and equipment
available to cover first aid and light rescue
incidents. The combined skills of EFAR personnel
enables them to transport casualties to the roadside
where Scottish Ambulance Service personnel would
transport to hospital.
Our organisation is steadily
growing with personnel being drawn from Galloway
Mountain Rescue Team, the Fire and Rescue Service,
as well as a number of first aiders from other
highly trained organisations.
We now have a fully equipped
Range Rover 4x4 Rescue Ambulance as part of our
vehicle fleet.
Our organisation is fully insured through
Zurich Insurance.
